My final lap of Sleepless in the Saddle 2009 and the most eventful. I had intended to take it easy and just keep below the hour mark, but I had a flat tyre so had to stop twice to pump it up which meant a bit of lost time so I pushed a little harder towards the end to try to catch it up.

I also moved over to let a faster rider through in one of the rooty wooded sections and as I did he caught my bars and sent my flying into a try with a suitably place chest high spiky branch sticking out of it. The branch grazed my arm and hit me in the chest. Luckily I had slowed down to let him pass so I didn't collide with it with too much force otherwise it could easily have impaled me. Instead I ended up with a bruised chest and a blue nipple!

Final time on this lap was 55 minutes so not too bad considering I still had flu and I had a few incidents.
